Bernie Marsden (ex-Whitesnake) put together an All-Star Line-Up for a day of live music to benefit Cancer Research UK and The National Kidney Research Fund. Zak was one of the participants.
According to Bernie on the official site, "The evening will be hosted by a selection of world class musicians, TV personalities and actors. Please show your support by purchasing tickets and/or making a donation. Ticket price includes all food and drinks. The only money you'll need is for the fantastic auction items."
The event was scheduled to run 8 pm - 12:30 am, and tickets cost £50
each. A Charity Auction also took place.
The list of confirmed artists included many familiar names:
Bernie Marsden, Mickey Moody, Neil Murray, Zak Starkey, Gary Nuttall, John Gordon,
David Levy, Bob Haddrell, Sharon Watson, Magnum, Bob Catley, Mark Stanway, Tony
Clarkin, Mo Birch, Mark Butcher, Jimmy Copley.
This event is reported to have been a great success (raised £26,000). The sell-out crowd was treated to performances from Nikkie Murray, Magnum, M3, Bernie's Blues Band, the Micky Moody Band and an all star finale featuring Geoff Whitehorn, Zak Starkey and England Cricketer Mark Butcher.
The event will be held again 9th Sep 2005 - with an eaqually interesting line-up (although Zak was not a participant in 2005).
